Some days ago I saw a poster on social media and it was written like this:
Support living artists, the dead ones don`t need it!
Very well said! It really matters for me that as many people as possible will read this message.
If it matters also for you, please SHARE it!

You are completely right, Lidia. I remember a book about Franz Schubert (written by Peter Härtling) - Franz Schubert´s father would have told to his son: "why dou you want to become a professional musician? You´ll have too much money to die and not enough money to live." Schubert, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and many other composers of the past had allways to battle for their "products". It´s the same throughout the whole world, that an artist should be also at least 1% a warrior. Generous gifts are simply rare and help us just for one short moment, but our long life (as long as possible) consits mostly of music, not gifts. We make our art and should feel lucky when we get, from time to time, a gift for our art. Great music and great money in the same time - nearly impossible, I believe. We have to make our choice between these two goals. My biggest respect for someone who is able to get both things!

Klaus, thank you for sharing your point of view. I agree with you that the artists should serve the art. Still I believe that the artists, the true artists ( which are actualy few and are people with value) should be appreciated. Of course what they do and what they let beyond is very important- the art in itself, but without support and appreciation their mission is very hard.

living artists/dead artists.....somehow a matter about art, not primarly about artists....the artist itself is not the most important thing....what the artist is doing, that is finally important: art (whitout this overrated "ist"-ending).... an artist, who kills the art, is quite a dead artist himself....you know very well, I guess.....we all have to serve our art.....the art should not have to serve us.....greetings!
